Cyberbullying and the Spread of Social Media

Cyberbullying and the Spread of Social Media

What is cyberbullying? Why do people do it? How does it happen? These are a few of the several questions regarding the common issue in our lives today. Throughout the past few years, cyberbullying has become a bigger issue than ever. This is mainly because of the spread of technology and social media. Sites like Facebook and Twitter have become so important in our lives and make it easy for people to connect and keep in touch with friends and family. These things, among others, are some of the positive aspects of social media; however, it is not always good. The number of times I have seen negative comments and posts towards other people on social media is too many to count. It is so common that, to be completely honest, I usually don’t think anything of it. I’m sure everybody sees things like this every day and although there are several actions being taken to put a stop to it, it still happens very often. Cyberbullying is something that can have negative effects on everybody involved and should be considered a priority in terms of finding a solution.
